What happens when PRJ posts a Call for Writers?

Excellent question! Here’s how this works:

• Respond to the directed prompt PRJ posts on social media by pitching a piece (essay, poem, response, etc.) through “Submit a Response.”

• PRJ will review the pitch, determine if it's a good fit for the platform, and reach out to you to begin writing!

• Once the piece is written and ready for publication on PRJ, you will be paid $300.

For the Archives (Call #1, accepting pitches until September 9)

• Follow the prompt: Is there a performance or event you've gone to in the past that you felt did not get enough post-show recognition? Was it ousted by critics? Were there low audiences and witnesses in attendance? Was there no documentation? The performance or event must have taken place prior to January 1, 2022.

• Respond to this directed prompt by pitching a piece (essay, poem, response, etc.) at “Submit a Response.”

• PRJ will be accepting pitches for this prompt until Friday, September 9, 2022 at 11:59pm CT. Each selected writer or writing artist will be granted a $300 honorarium once their submission is published.
